The rules
How the Ambassadors Cup works. The dates and times are on the competition page, in UTC.
Before the start
Switch to one-way position mode first.
Hedge mode isn't allowed. Aster only lets you switch while you're flat with no open orders, so do it before anything else, in Aster's position-mode setting.
Put exactly $10 USDT in perps, not spot.
The check wants $10.00 USDT, give or take half a cent, in the perp account. Exchange withdrawals and bridges can take a small fee — send a little more to your wallet, then deposit exactly 10.00 USDT to Aster.
A brand-new EVM wallet, with nothing else in your Aster account (gas in the wallet itself is fine).
The checks read your Aster account: no trading history, no other assets (USDT left in spot doesn't count until you move it to perps; USDC fails the check), no open positions or orders. Everyone starts level. The address must be an EVM one (0x…). A trade before the start is trading history, and rules the wallet out.
One wallet per X account, and one X account per wallet.
The first claim on an address wins. Anyone else uses a different new wallet.
Be set up 5 minutes before the start, then touch nothing until the start.
The start judges the last read taken in the 5 minutes before it. Don't trade, move money or change settings in that window.
You can change or cancel your entry until the start (best done before the last 5 minutes).
Swap wallets as often as you like, or cancel your entry from the entry page. From the start, entries and wallets are fixed.
During the round
Any USDT perpetual on Aster Dex, at any leverage.
No leverage cap. No spot, and no other assets: holding anything other than USDT gets flagged.
One-way mode, the whole round.
Any hedge-mode position, even one-sided, draws a warning first. Doing it again, or still being in hedge mode 12 hours after the warning, can get you disqualified.
Use cross margin.
Your score is your wallet balance plus unrealised P&L. We're still checking that margin set aside in isolated mode counts in full, so cross margin is the safe choice.
Never turn privacy mode on.
The board has to read your account. Turning privacy on gets you disqualified unless Asterverse, after looking into it, reinstates you.
No hidden orders.
We can't see hidden orders in public data. Their effects still show in your balance.
No money in.
Withdrawals are allowed, but money you withdraw no longer counts toward your score, and anything you put back counts as money in.
Dense trading may draw a question.
When many trades land between two reads the numbers can be hard to untangle, and Asterverse may ask you about them.
How you're scored
Equity is the score.
Your wallet balance plus unrealised P&L at the mark price, across every market. Fees and funding count. Every wallet is read every 2 minutes, all round.
Round 1 ends at the buzzer.
Your score is the closing read, taken at the buzzer. If you go through, keep trading if you like — your wallet carries straight on into round 2.
If the closing read fails.
If Aster can't be read at the buzzer, your last successful read stands (normally from the last couple of minutes; your starting $10 if you were never read), and Asterverse has to accept it before results are confirmed.
Ties share the place.
Equal to the cent means the same place.
Results are provisional on the night.
The board may reorder as the closing reads land. The audit runs about 2 hours 10 minutes after the buzzer; Asterverse confirms the results after it, usually the next day.
How the rules are checked
Nobody is disqualified automatically.
The system asks questions; Asterverse decides every flag, and you'll be contacted before any disqualification. Nothing under review is ever shown on the public board.
Not everything can be seen from public data.
Some breaches may go unnoticed, so not every rule can be enforced. Play it straight anyway.
Going through to round 2
The first 10 to reach $20 go through.
$20 is double the $10 start. It counts the first time one of our 2-minute reads shows your equity at $20.00 or more, from the start to the buzzer. Through is through: dropping back later doesn't matter.
In the order they reach it.
If two traders reach it on the same read, the higher equity goes first. A tie to the cent for the last place is decided by Asterverse.
Round 1 runs to the buzzer either way.
If fewer than 10 reach $20, the remaining places go to the highest equity at the buzzer — but only to traders in profit who've met the trading rule below. Liquidated traders can't go through at all, even after reaching $20. So round 2 may have fewer than 10.
For the remaining places: trade, and hold a position for 42 hours.
To take one of the remaining places, by the buzzer you need at least one trade in round 1 and an open position for at least 42 of its 168 hours — a quarter of the round. Any size counts, and the hours add up across the round. We count it from our 2-minute reads: each one that shows a position open counts 2 minutes. A read we couldn't make never counts against you. Reaching $20 doesn't need it.
Your wallet carries straight on.
Round 2 uses the same wallet with nothing reset — keep trading after you're through and between the rounds; it all counts. Aster adds the 100 USDT prize to each wallet. It's yours to keep. Round 2 is for bragging rights, and the largest equity at its buzzer wins an Aster Suitcase. It ends live on X on Sun 8 Nov.
